Lunch With A Leader Features Patrick Suddath Feb. 17

Bandelier Superintendent Patrick Suddath

LWV News:

The Los Alamos League of Women Voters (LWV) monthly community event, Lunch with a Leader, is noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, via zoom.

The featured leader is Bandelier National Monument Superintendent Patrick Suddath.

Suddath has served as superintendent of the park since August 2021.

Born in Albuquerque, Suddath earned a Bachelor of Arts from New Mexico State University. He has a strong background in cultural and natural resources. There is nothing more cultural than the Independence Natural Historic Park with the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall where he was Deputy Superintendent prior to coming to Bandelier. He also served as the Branch Chief of Ranger Activities at Glacier National Park and held other leadership roles at Joshua Tree and Grand Canyon National Parks.

Suddath began his career as a fire lookout and wildland firefighter in Mesa Verde National Park in 1989. He said he is happy to return home to New Mexico where he has many fond memories growing up in Albuquerque and visiting the cliff dwellings of Bandelier, as well as hiking and skiing in the area that would become the Valles Caldera National Preserve.
