U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján

U.S. SENATE News:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement on the House passage of the Build Back Better Act:

“Following President Biden signing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, Democrats in Congress are following through on their commitment to invest in American families through the Build Back Better Act.

“While being the most significant investment in climate action in history, this legislation also extends the Child Tax Credit, lowers prescription drug costs, and invests in vital services like child care. The Build Back Better Act will create jobs and opportunities for working families, while lowering costs and addressing inflation, after a pandemic that has threatened countless lives and livelihoods.

“As I have said for months: We will get this done, and today we are now one step closer to delivering for New Mexicans. With the support of Americans across this country, this historic legislation will soon be passed by the Senate and signed into law, and it will make a difference in the lives of every community across America.”
