COUNTY News:
Some Los Alamos citizens eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and are registered with the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) will receive an email or a text message this week.
DOH notifications will provide information on how to schedule an appointment for the vaccine clinic Sunday, Feb. 14 at Griffith Gymnasium at Los Alamos High School, 1300 Diamond Dr. The event is hosted by Nambe Drugs, Los Alamos County and DOH.
Due to a limited supply of vaccine, DOH is prioritizing notification to those healthcare workers and adults 75 years and older most in need and still waiting for a first dose.
Upon receipt of the DOH email or text message, those individuals will need to click on the link provided to access their profile, entering their confirmation number and birth date. Select “Schedule an Appointment” and enter the “Special Event Code” (also provided in the email or text) to schedule an appointment. In some cases, it may be necessary to unselect the “Yes, I have a Special Event Code” in order to choose Los Alamos in the city window. Individuals will then be prompted to select an appointment time.
Appointments are required to receive a vaccine. No walk-ins will be accepted.
Los Alamos citizens who do not receive a DOH notification for this upcoming vaccine clinic are encouraged to remain patient. As more vaccine doses become available, more clinics will be scheduled.
Los Alamos County Emergency Manager Beverley Simpson reminds citizens interested in receiving a vaccine to register on DOH website https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/. Individuals will receive a confirmation code, which will allow DOH to prioritize individuals and contact them when vaccines become available.
For more information, citizens can call the DOH hotline: 1-855-600-3453, press option 0 for vaccine questions, and then option 4 for tech support. Citizens also can visit the Los Alamos County website at: https://lacnm.com/COVID.
