4-H News:

Los Alamos Team 4-H planted 49 Ponderosa Pine seedlings Saturday at the Los Alamos County Stables on North Mesa as part of their community service project for 2014.

The group obtained the seedlings from the New Mexico State Forestry Conservation Seedling Program.

For more than 40 years, the Division has offered low cost seedlings to landowners to plant for reforestation, erosion control, windbreaks or Christmas tree plantations. Since 1960, more than four million trees have been planted throughout New Mexico that were purchased through this program.

In early May, the group will be be receiving 49 lilac bush seedlings and planting those at the stables as well.
