Four swimmers from Los Alamos left Tuesday to compete in the 2014 Western Zone Senior Championship meet taking place in Clovis, Calif., through Sunday, Aug. 3. 

This meet has 128 teams participating from 13 western states including Hawaii and Alaska.

Today’s competition opens with the women’s 1500 meter free and the men’s 800 meter free swims, which both Sarah Lott and Kaan Unal of Los Alamos will be racing. Thursday’s highlights include training-mates Sydney Schoonover, Jennifer Barich-Mooday and Lott in the 100 meter freestyle swim, as well as Barich-Mooday in the 200 meter backstroke.
