CHRISTUS St. Vincent Medical Center brings us the band Crazy Bird to Ashley Pond Park for the 6th show of the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, this Friday, June 27. Come out to the free event and enjoy the multitude of food vendors, kids’ activities, information booths, and non-profit row.

Crazy Bird is a local band in the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area. According to their website, they play impossible music, with righteous grooves for dancing and good times. The fun starts at 6 p.m. with the Los Alamos Community Winds, and the entire concert is free to the public.

This event is sponsored by CHRISTUS St. Vincent Medical Center, in honor of their expansion in Los Alamos and to support Breast Cancer Awareness, with their non-profit partner, Nancy Partridge of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

“I am so grateful to Sancre Productions, the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, and CHRISTUS St. Vincent for their support of my fundraising efforts for Susan G. Komen,” Partridge said. “I have been doing fundraising walks for breast cancer for 25 years, but this year, fundraising is more important than ever. Funding for cancer research has been drastically cut by the government, which leaves it up to the people and the nonprofits to keep the research going and keep the researchers funded. Lives depend on it. Please visit my booth at the concert or find out how to donate at Komen.org.”

CHRISTUS St. Vincent has been serving New Mexicans since 1865 and is located in Santa Fe. Their hospital and outpatient clinics provide the 300,000-plus residents of north-central New Mexico with access to 39 services and lines of specialty care. CHRISTUS St. Vincent recently announced that it has completed the purchase of 1.64 acres in Los Alamos for the development and construction of a 25,000 square-foot, multi-specialty health care facility.

“This is an exciting opportunity to expand and enhance health care services in Los Alamos,” said President and CEO Lillian Montoya of CHRISTUS St. Vincent. “CHRISTUS St. Vincent has operated a sports medicine clinic in Los Alamos for more than 10 years, and we recently added primary care, cardiology, and oncology clinic services.”

The Los Alamos Summer Concert Series is produced by Sancre Productions and the Los Alamos County Community Services Department. To find out more information, please visit our website losalamossummerconcertseries.com, or our Facebook Page.
