Los Alamos Sportsmens Club Hosts First Cowboy Shoot Of The Year March 18

LASC News:

The Los Alamos Sportsmen’s Club is hosting its first “Cowboy Shoot” of the year at at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at the Los Alamos Sportsmen’s Club Pistol Pits.

This SASS ruled event occurs every third Saturday of each month March until November (weather permitting).

The shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, “Old West” style. Clothing attire and accoutrements, as well as the guns used, that reflects this period of the American West is required/encouraged to shoot in these events. Courses of fire are shot in stages that change each month, firing on fixed or reactive steel targets. Scoring is based on accuracy and overall time used to shoot each stage.

If this is something you think you might be interested in you are welcome to come and observe the event. We’ll show you what it’s all about and let you try shooting some of the guns (eye and ear protection required) after the match.
