Los Alamos Ski Racing Team Trains With UNM Ski Team At Red River Ski Area

The Los Alamos Ski Racing Team is training with the UNM Ski Team at Red River Ski Area. The University of New Mexico Ski Team has been a top academic and athletic team since 1970 (men) and 1974 (women). Its mission is to provide excellent opportunities for male and female students as they participate in a top level intercollegiate ski program as part of their academic experience at the UNM. Its team has won 14 NCAA Team trophies and consistently has the highest team GPA of all UNM Athletic teams. In its 47 years of competing, UNM has had athletes from more than 20 different countries representing its team. These athletes have won 16 Individual NCAA Championship titles and earned countless podium appearances. The major highlight came in 2004 when the team won the NCAA Team Title.
