Los Alamos Sheriff’s Office Looking into Reports Registered Sex Offender Photographed Students

Los Alamos Sheriff Marco Lucero

Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Department News:

The Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Department issued a press release today stating that Sheriff Marco Lucero is looking into complaints brought to his attention by parents of students attending Pinon Elementary School in White Rock.

Last week, Sheriff Lucero was visited by parents of students who attend school at Pinon Elementary. The parents were concerned that a local registered sex-offender was taking pictures of students during a recent school function.

Sheriff Lucero was told that Thomas (Ted) Vives was taking pictures of students other than that of his own child and they were concerned. Mr. Vives voluntarily came into the Sheriff’s office today, (March 17) but refused to answer any questions without his attorney being there.

The Sheriff’s Office, with the cooperation of the Los Alamos Police Department is looking into the matter.
