SENIOR OLYMPICS News:
 
The Los Alamos Senior Olympic games are underway. Sheryl Bailey and Cy Jakubowski qualified for the State Games in basketball free throw and 3-point shot and six runners qualified in the 5K and four runners in the 10K road race Saturday, April 19.

5K men’s division:
  • Ted Romero [50-54] 23’49”
  • Michael Benelli  [60-64] 25’27”
  • George Jennings, Jr. [65-69] 27’53”

10K:
  • Mary Billen [women’s 70-74] 80’46”
10K men’s division:
  • Ted Romero [50-54] 47’32”
  • Ted Williams [65-69] 90’13”
  • Richard Thompson, Jr [70-74] 68’45”
 
Joan Williams is the official timer for the Senior Olympic games, which continue until May 10. Anyone 50+ may register at the Y (late registration) as long as their requested event has not yet been held. Swimming, shuffleboard and table tennis will be held this week with talent, dance, bowling, track and field next week. Air gun, horseshoes, huachas (washers), softball throw, frisbee throw and soccer kick will be held in the final week of the games.
