Los Alamos Hockey Association
The Kickoff Session of the Los Alamos Roller Hockey Season was Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the County Ice Rink, in collaboration with Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation and the Los Alamos Hockey Association (LAHA). The County is hosting the weekly event and LAHA is executing the on-rink activities.
The event is open to everyone in the community ages 12 and under, no registration or affiliation with LAHA required, just an entry fee/cost of $4 per participant.
The event is scheduled every Wednesday (same time and/location) until the start of winter ice skating and hockey season, with the possibility of expanding to additional days and age groups (including adults) depending upon interest and precipitation levels.
Parents are required to bring their own equipment; the minimum required is roller or inline skates, a helmet with a face mask, and stick-suggested shin/knee/elbow pads and gloves.
Session structure will generally follow a format of skating drills (30 minutes), then hockey drills (30 minutes), and finally end with scrimmage/game play (60 minutes).
