100MWC News:

100 Men Who Care Los Alamos members selected Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation as the recipient of their June 2026 giving award. The group meets quarterly for a 30-minute social with food and drink, and then to hear three pre-selected organizations make five-minute presentations. The group then votes on the organizations, and each member writes a check for $100 to the winner.

In addition to the LAPS Foundation, the group heard from Champions of Youth Ambition and Living Treasures of Los Alamos. Twenty-nine members attended the event June 11, which was held at the SALA event center and catered by China Palace. Members donated a total of $3450 to LAPS Foundation, which will fund multiple Wellness Grants of up to $500 each. These grants support creating a positive school culture, bringing staff and/or students together, breaking down barriers, and building resiliency and/or connectedness.  Any LAPS employee may apply for these grants.

We also heard an update from League of Women Voters Los Alamos Board of Directors President Leslie Walstrom. Walstrom described how 100 MWC funds from our March 2026 event paid for the LWV LA Voters guide, which was delivered to every household in LA County ahead of the most recent primary election held in early June.

The venue and catering were sponsored by Enterprise Bank and Trust with Los Alamos Community Foundation serving as our partner and fiscal agent. This sponsorship allows one hundred percent of 100 MWC donations to go to the non-profit organization.
