Los Alamos Police Conduct Security Assessment And Active Shooter Training In Daily Post Newsroom

Los Alamos Police Sgt. Daniel Roberts, left, and Sgt. Christopher Ross demonstrate safety techniques during active shooter training Tuesday afternoon in the newsroom at the Los Alamos Daily Post at 1247 Central Ave., in downtown Los Alamos. Following the June 28 tragedy in which a gunman blasted his way into the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis, Md., wielding a shotgun and killing five people and injuring two others, Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone met with Daily Post staff last week. Sgt. Roberts and Sgt. Ross returned Tuesday to conduct a security assessment of the Post’s facility and train reporters on safety measures to take in the event of an active shooter situation.
