Los Alamos Police Blotter: June 14 to June 20, 2012

The following information is provided by the Los Alamos Police Department. Neither arrests nor charges indicate a conviction, and neither means that a person is guilty of the charges filed against them.

June 14 at 2:51 p.m. / A 45-year-old Los Alamos woman reported that her cell phone estimated at $251.99 was stolen on North Mesa Road. The phone was later recovered and charges are pending against the alleged thief.

June 14 at 6:39 p.m. / A 39-year-old Los Alamos man reported that someone stole the license plate from his trailer parked on Mariposa Court. The estimated loss is less than $250.

June 15 at 1:06 p.m. / Los Alamos National Laboratory reported that someone stole a tire off of a trailer parked at TA-60. The estimated loss is $70.

June 15 at 7:48 p.m. / A man reported to police that he was verbally threatened by another man on Trinity Drive. No charges have been filed.

June 16 at 11:44 a.m. / Police received a report that the sand box lid had been damaged at Mountain Elementary School on North Road. The estimated loss is $57.

MICHAEL HART

June 16 at 5:08 p.m. / Police pulled over Michael Hart, 47, of Valier on East Jemez Road and N.M. 4 for failing to maintain his lane and subsequently charged him with aggravated DWI, negligent use of a deadly weapon, driving with an open container of alcohol, roadways laned for traffic and concealing his identity. Hart’s vehicle was towed to an impound lot.

June 16 at 3:42 p.m. / A 46-year-old Los Alamos man reported that he was battered on Seminole Drive.

June 16 at 4 p.m. / Police charged Desiree Nitz, 22, of Los Alamos with battery against a household member on Seminole Drive and issued her a summons to appear in court.

June 17 at 4:23 a.m. / New Mexico State Police arrested Veronica Johnson, 41, of Cuba on an outstanding Los Alamos Magistrate Court warrant, for failure to appear in court for a traffic citation, and transported her to the Los Alamos Detention Center for booking. No photo is available. 

June 17 at 9:04 a.m. / Police charged a 16-year-old Los Alamos boy with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Barcelona and referred him to the juvenile probation officer.

REID SCHNEIDER

June 17 at 4:49 p.m. / Police pulled over Reid Schneider, 22, of Los Alamos after observing him driving an off-highway motorcycle on San Ildefonso Road and subsequently arrested him and charged him with driving on a revoked license, driving an off-highway vehicle on the street, no registration and no insurance. His motorcycle was towed to an impound lot.

June 17 at 5:51 p.m. / Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Sycamore Street and subsequently charged Krista Wilhelm, 26, of Los Alamos with possession of drug paraphernalia and issued her a summons to appear in court.

June 18 at 10:03 p.m. / Police responded to Ashley Hotel and Suites at at 2175 Trinity Dr., on a report of a disturbance and were told that Theodore Porter, 35, of Houston was causing the disturbance and was no longer allowed on the property. Police issued Porter a letter of no trespass and he was escorted off the property. While still on scene, Porter returned to the hotel and was subsequently arrested for criminal trespass.

June 19 at 7:48 a.m. / Police received a report that a white Ford 4×4 pickup was traveling west on East Road when a ladder it was carrying flew out of the truck and struck an electronic traffic board causing significant damage. It was reported that the driver of the pickup retrieved his ladder and immediately left the area without submitting a crash report. Police are investigating the matter. The estimated damage is $45,000.

June 19 at 7:52 a.m. / A 36-year-old Los Alamos man reported that his vehicle was broken into while parked at his residence on Esperanza. Items reported to have been taken include binoculars, sunglasses, a pocket knife and a flashlight. The estimated loss is $101.

June 19 at 1:51 p.m. / LANL reported that a chainsaw was stolen from a storage shed at TA-50. The estimated loss is $366.

DAVE MARTINEZ

June 19 at 7:33 p.m. / Dave Martinez, 40, of Chimayo was arrested by New Mexico State Police and transported to the Los Alamos Detention Center where he was booked on a $2,000 cash only Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic citation.

 

 

 

WILLIAM MULLALLY

June 19 at 8:13 p.m. / Police pulled over a vehicle for speeding on East Road and subsequently arrested William Mullaly, 22, of Alcalde on two outstanding warrants (a no bond District Court warrant for a probation violation for possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and a $500 Rio Arriba Magistrate Court warrant for failure to appear on larceny charges.) He was additionally charged with speeding and driving without insurance.

June 19 at 8:13 p.m. / Police charged Angela Montoya, 23, of Truchas with possession of drug paraphernalia and issued her a summons to appear in court.

 

June 20 at 5:56 a.m. / A Los Alamos woman reported that someone stole her purse, cell phone and other items in the 2000 block of Torreon. The estimated loss is less than $250.

June 20 at 7:21 a.m. / A 48-year-old Peralta woman reported that the window on a vehicle parked at LANL was broken. The estimated loss is $150.

JAMES CARPENTER

June 20 at 1:05 p.m. / Police responded to Urban Park on a report that James Carpenter, 26, of Los Alamos was there and had an outstanding district court warrant for a probation violation. Carpenter fled on foot down Sycamore Street as officers were approaching. Police caught Carpenter north of the Pueblo Complex and arrested him for the warrant and resisting/evading/obstructing an officer.

June 20 at 8:31 p.m. / A 12-year-old Los Alamos boy reported that he has been receiving harrassing text messages. The matter is under investigation.
