Staff Report

When Belgium exchange student Thomas Routiaux spoke to the Los Alamos Rotary Club recently, a member asked him “what can we do for you?” Routiaux asked members to take him with them to gain new experiences.

“How would you like to take a plane ride,” said Rotarian Gary Derosier of Santa Fe National Bank. Derosier pilots his own plane and took Routiaux on a flight Aug. 28 and gave him a bird’s eye view of Los Alamos and the surrounding area.

Routiaux, 17, is from Neupré, Liege, Belgium. He is this year’s Rotary echange student currently hosted by Rotarian Lisa Harris and her husband Mark whose daughter Cassidy was the Los Alamos Rotary Club’s outbound student to the Netherlands last year.
