Summer Concert News:
Friday, May 27, James Carothers returns to Ashley Pond Park after his 2019 debut performance brought thousands to the pond, including many of his Hilltopper Class of 2000 – school classmates, former coworkers, friends and family members.
The James Carothers concert is co-sponsored by Triad National Security – Los Alamos National Laboratory, EXIT Realty, and RPM Automotive. Local hometown boy and former Los Alamos Laboratory technician, James Carothers, is best known for his stone-country originals and spot-on impressions of some of country music’s greatest icons.
Just prior to the 2020 shutdown, James fulfilled a lifelong dream by making his Grand Ole Opry debut at the Ryman Auditorium, receiving a standing ovation from a crowd full of friends and family.
Today, Carothers is taking a break from opening for Alan Jackson’s Honky Tonk Highway Tour (2019 – 2022) to perform for the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series.
Carothers released his most recent album, Whatcha Got Left in 2021. Previous albums include Songs & Stories (2019), Still Country, Still King: A Tribute to George Jones (2018), Relapse (2017), and Honky Tonk Land (2014). These CDs, and other Carothers fan merchandise will be available for sale at Friday’s concert.
Pre-concert activities include dance warm-ups hosted by the Los Alamos Family YMCA, and the opening performance by Eddy & The Nomads starting at 6pm. James Carothers takes the stage at 7:30pm.
The Los Alamos Summer Concert Series Presented by Toyota of Santa Fe runs every Friday at Ashley Pond Park through August 26th.
