LAMTA News:
The Los Alamos Music Teachers Association (LAMTA) will present a student recital this coming Sunday at 2 p.m. at the University of New Mexico Los Alamos campus. The concert is free to the public and will last about an hour.
In going to a recital like this, you are supporting and encouraging young musical talent. Through the last few months these dedicated young artists have prepared music to share with an audience. You will hear selections from a wide variety of composers, like Gurlitt (1820-1901), Kabalevsky (1904-1987), Beethoven (1770-1827), Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) and many others. The students will perform solos on piano, violin and double bass.
LAMTA is the local affiliate of Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico and Music Teachers National Association, whose purpose is the advancement of music education in Los Alamos, the surrounding area and the state. The local organization wants new members and is encouraging local music teachers to join the state and national associations.
