Gabriella Tepley is a member of the LAHS chapter of the National Art Honor Society. She explained that she wanted to bring in the town and landmarks that most who live here would recognize, the people who both live in and near town. ‘I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to paint my extraordinary design for them, and I will be glad to see it hung in their halls, as a reminder of our history and community as well as the history the people who live near Los Alamos bring as well,’ she said. Erin Scott is a member of the LAHS chapter of the National Art Honor Society. She said this piece was inspired by the colors of the sky just as the sun sets in surrounding mountains. ‘It was my goal to create serenity in a surrealistic take of the New Mexico scenery,’ she said, adding that she will be attending the University of New Mexico to study studio arts.
