Even as we practice healthy “social distancing”, the Los Alamos community resiliently bands together in a myriad of ways to comply with the governor’s public health orders to stay at home except for essential health visits or grocery store runs, and wear masks when close proximity is unavoidable.

The providers and staff at the Los Alamos Medical Care Clinic (LAMCC) would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our community for all the amazing ways you support us through the ravages and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many talented and generous people in Los Alamos have showered us with kindness and practical assistance, and we appreciate you so very much. Yes, we are “feelin’ the love”, Los Alamos!

Thank you to all the accomplished folks who have stepped up to the plates of their sewing machines, designing and sewing masks for us during this time when the usual supply chain for disposable masks has all but dried up. Huge thanks go to Cindy Waisner, Kirsten Temple, Kelly Naranjo, and the Facebook group called “Making Masks for Healthcare Workers, and others.

We have also been graciously treated to delicious meals from local restaurants paid for by several generous souls in our community, including locals Steve and Kay Bolivar, and the congregation from the New Beginnings Fellowship. The nutritious sustenance and the emotional support you provide are appreciated more than you know.

Working in the healthcare field can be challenging at the best of times. We want to make sure that you all know that we recognize and value the sacrifices you are making to help keep us safe and healthy so we can continue to serve you better through these unprecedented times.

Thank you, Los Alamos!
