LOS ALAMOS MAINSTREET News:
Get ready for Halloweekend 4-6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28 in downtown Los Alamos.
Los Alamos MainStreet annually hosts the highly popular Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet and last year more than 4,000 people attended the event. Local businesses and organizations open their doors and set up tables along Central Avenue to hand out treats to costumed trick-or-treaters.
New this year and weather permitting, there will be hot air balloons during Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet and the Pumpkin Glow. Before dark they will be offering tethered rides for a small fee with part of the proceeds going to United Way. After dark they will be glowing right along with the pumpkins! Check them out at Fuller Lodge Lawn and Ashley Pond.
The Pet Costume Parade will march down the street at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Dance Arts Los Alamos performance at 6 p.m. Find a complete event list at losalamosmainstreet.com. Other activities include Trick-or-Treating 3-5 p.m., at Los Alamos Medical Center; High Tech Halloween 4-6:30 p.m. at the Bradbury Science Museum and a Costume Climb 6-8 p.m. at the the YMCA.
Festivities continue Saturday, Oct. 29, with pumpkin carving 10 a.m. to noon at the Smith’s Marketplace. The Masquerade Recital starts at 3:30 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. The Los Alamos Arts Council is hosting the annual Pumpkin Glow 6-9 p.m., on the lawn at Fuller Lodge. Los Alamos MainStreet will provide entertainment by The Nomads 6:30-9 p.m. inside Fuller Lodge.
Los Alamos MainStreet extends a sincere thanks to its sponsors: Los Alamos National Bank, Los Alamos Medical Center and Smith’s Marketplace, and to its partners: Los Alamos Arts Council, Central Park Square and Los Alamos County.
