The League of Women Voters of Los Alamos hosted the Biennial Convention of the League of Women Voters of New Mexico the weekend of May 17-19 at the Holiday Inn Express.

Forty-five League delegates from Los Alamos, Santa Fe, the Albuquerque area and Las Cruces gathered to elect a new LWVNM board and adopt positions on issues that they have studied.

Delegates were welcomed by Los Alamos County Council Chair Sara Scott. Other speakers were Dist. 43 Rep. Christine Chandler, National League representative Liz Bander and State Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard.
Lunch was catered by the Los Alamos Co+op Market, the dinner banquet by Pig + Fig, and delegates spent an afternoon visiting local sights. The emphasis on local food and experiences was appreciated by all the delegates.
