LAHA News:

Los Alamos Hockey Association (LAHS) ice hockey registration is now open at https:////www.lahockey.org.

The plan is to begin hockey in mid-November or early December and run through about mid-February, before the sun starts up over the mountain and melts the ice.

The ice hockey age range is 5-18 years old.

Most practices are during the week at night and games are mainly played Saturdays and Sundays. 

Scholarships are available for players who cannot afford to pay the fees. 

Players may rent equipment except skates, but LAHS does have some of the smaller size skates available for rent. This season equipment rentals take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 12-13 at the White Rock Storage Facility.

The Los Alamos County Ice Rink manager is preparing the surface for painting it white and with logos. This hopefully will be completed within the next couple of weeks.

If it stays cold as it has been they may be able to open the rink around Nov. 15 but only time will tell. 

The rink will be selling skating passes for the hockey players to play all year. This won’t happen until just as the rink opens, so stay tuned.
