The Los Alamos Historical Society (LAHS) featured Dr. Mark T. Banker as guest speaker in the Society’s November Lecture Series held Thursday evening at Fuller Lodge.
Banker’s “lively and informative presentation” delved into the interesting parallels between Oak Ridge, Tenn. and Los Alamos, offering a different perspective of these two atomic cities.
In addition to Banker’s talk, LAHS announced the recipients of the Los Alamos Historical Society’s 2023 History Award: John and Sandy Charles. Their decade long commitment as walking tour guides, historical property caretakers, researchers and contributors to the maintenance of the General’s car exemplify outstanding volunteerism and make the history museum a welcoming place for all.
For those who missed the event, the recorded lecture is now available on the LAHS YouTube page.
The next LAHS lecture is Jan. 9 with speaker Bruce Held who will be presenting on the year he was acting administrator of the NNSA. View the Lecture Series schedule on the LAHS website.
