The Los Alamos Historical Society is announces its May lecture in the 2017-2018 lecture series “100 Years on the Pajarito Plateau”.
 
Judy Machen, a retired research historian for Los Alamos National Laboratory, and co-author of Homesteading on the Pajarito Plateau 1887-1942, will present a talk on “A Tale of Two Homesteaders: Contrasts between the Brook and Romero Homesteads.”
 
Harold Brook and Victor Romero illustrate the surprising story of homesteading on the Pajarito Plateau. Machen will explore new research discoveries that have enlarged what historians have believed about the two homesteaders.

The lecture is 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at historic Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos.

The theme of Los Alamos Historical Society’s 2017 – 2018 lecture series is “100 Years on The Pajarito Plateau.” This lecture series is sponsored by Raffi Andonian and Nicole Kliebert.
