Donovan Valerio shut down Santa Fe, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Hilltoppers to a 10-0 victory Thursday.

The Hilltoppers got things started in the first inning when Grant Watkins doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

The Hilltoppers tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The Hilltoppers big bats were led by Carson Dickson, J Taylor Drake and Diego Rodriguez, all driving in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for the Demons was a single by Elijah King in the first inning. Valerio got the start for the Hilltoppers and lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking one.

Elijah King was on the mound for the Demons. The hurler lasted one inning, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out one and walking one. Myron Trujillo and Lincoln Stacy entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The Hilltoppers tallied seven hits on the day. Drake and Watkins each had multiple hits for Los Alamos. Drake led Los Alamos with three hits in three at bats.
