SPORTS News:

The Hilltopper Boys Cross Country team had their work cut out for them, competing against very strong teams from 4A rival Albuquerque Academy and 5A Sue Cleveland High School at Friday afternoon’s Home Meet at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

Toppers Rafael Sanchez, Wakei Hettinga, Steven Strevell and Keith Bridge went out with the lead pack in a very exciting race. Gage Ellis rounded out the five Hilltopper scorers.

All finished in the top 10, but couldn’t match Academy taking the top-3 places, and finished 2nd to Academy in the team scoring, 46-25. However, they did beat 5A powerhouse Cleveland (53 points) for the first time this season.
