 LAHS News:

This semester Catherine Puranananda’s AP Literature and Composition class has been working in conjunction with Santa Fe Opera in a study of Ian Frazier’s novel Cold Mountain, which will premier as an opera this season.

Earlier this spring, Los Alamos soprano Christina Martos gave a lecture to the students on opera basics. SFO’s head of education, Andrea Fellows Walters, was also a guest speaker, and provided a lecture on the Cold Mountain libretto. On Monday, students toured the entire SFO facility.

The study will conclude with attendance at an actual performance in late July.
