With continuing mild winter weather, the Los Alamos Golf Course is planning to open the golf course Friday, Feb. 14. The hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week through March 8, weather permitting.
The first tee time is 10 a.m., the range will open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 4 p.m., due to the need to “hand pick.” Weekday tee times may be made three days in advance. The first available tee time is 10 a.m. and reservations for tee times Saturday, Sunday and holiday’s may be made by phone, Wednesday morning prior to the weekend one wishes to play. The first available tee time is 10 a.m. for weekends.
Important items to note:
- Being in the middle of winter and with no measurable precipitation for some time, carts will be restricted to cart paths to protect turf and provide the best opportunity for good conditions later this spring and summer.
- With construction underway on the Clubhouse/Community Building and parking limited in the main parking lot, the overflow parking area will be accessible at the top (west end) of the main parking lot. When entering the overflow lot, be aware of construction traffic. To access the golf shop safely, players should walk up to the main parking lot and head from the lower end (east end) of the main parking lot to the pro shop. DO NOT cross through the driving range as it will be open and it is dangerous! There is no access point in that area due to the construction.
- There will be no tee markers on any of the tees because the turf is still dormant. The goal is to spread the traffic around as much as possible and limit the damage as the turf is not able to repair itself this time of year.
