Los Alamos Girls Varsity Golf Team Pulls Off 4-Stroke Victory At NMMI Golf Tournament In Roswell

The Los Alamos Girls golf team participated in their 9th tournament of the year at the NMMI invitational Thursday in Roswell.

The warm weather helped their swings heat up as they pulled off a 4-stroke victory over the Artesia Bulldogs. Coming in 3rd was the Clovis Wildcats.

Los Alamos finished with a team score of 344 while Artesia played to a 348 and Clovis shot a 415.

Los Alamos rebounded from an off performance at the Shoot Out in the Desert to win their 5th tournament of the year and earn their 9th state qualifying team leg.

Individually, the team was led by their #1 player Jessica Osden who tied for first with Brehnan Davis from Artesia who both shot a 76. Artesia’s Taysea Powell came in third with a 79 and Los Alamos’ Leah Mountain finished 4th shooting an 86.

The entire Los Alamos team played very well. Muira Mowrer – 88, Alicia Gonzales – 94, Emily Moulton – 94, all earned individual legs toward the state tournament along with Osden and Mountain. Eighth grader Gabrielle Mowrer shot a 104 posting the best score to date.

Up next for the lady Hilltoppers is the regular season finally Monday April 29 at Pinion Hills in Farmington.
