LAGC News:

The Los Alamos Garden Club (LAGC) congratulates Los Alamos High School seniors Adalee Witt and Ryan Aldaz.

Witt has been awarded the Sue Graves Memorial scholarship. Graves was a longtime member of LAGC and served twice as president and as president of the New Mexico Garden Clubs, Inc, comprised of 27 clubs and more than 500 members. She also served many years on the National Garden Clubs Board of Directors and was very supportive of education and scholarships.

Witt will be attending Oregon State University to study biochemistry to help fight climate change. She is an avid gardener and environmentalist.

Aldaz is the recipient of the annual LAGC scholarship. He has not yet decided which university to attend in his pursuit of a degree in biochemistry as the first step before heading to medical school. Aldaz has spent many hours working on various community service projects. His interest in gardening led him to take charge of a school garden.

LAGC was created in 1947 to stimulate interest in gardening, aid in protection and conservation of natural resources, and promote community beautification.
