Los Alamos Fire Chief Troy Hughes graduates in a special ceremony this week from The Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) Naval Postgraduate School Master’s Degree Program (MA). The CHDS Master’s Degree Program is an 18-month program, geared towards:
- Developing policies, strategies, plans and programs to prevent terrorist attacks within the United States, and reduce America’s vulnerability to terrorism and catastrophic events;
- Building the organizational and interagency arrangements needed to strengthen homeland security; and
- Helping elected officials and federal leaders improve homeland security preparedness by developing actionable policies and strategies.
Students admitted into the program are advancing leaders from diverse homeland security disciplines including fire service emergency management, law enforcement, military and public health.
Chief Hughes has completed the CHDS Master’s degree program, and will graduate Friday, Dec. 15 at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.
