The Los Alamos Farmers Market is 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Thursday in the Mesa Public Library parking lot on Central Avenue.

This week at market:

Lettuce mixes, Heads of lettuce, English Peas, Sugar Snap peas, Snow peas, Swiss Chard, Arugula, Dill, Parsley, Basil, Cilantro, Young onions, Fresh Garlic, Potatoes, Green Onions, Carrots, Beets, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Russian Kale, Rainbow Chard, Red Chile, Ungraded Eggs, Lamb, Lavender Products, Cheeses, Milk, Butter, Cheese spreads, Radishes, Breads, Sticky buns, Pizzas, Scones, Jams & Jellies, Spinach, Lambs Quarters, Pinto beans, Turnips, honey & honey sticks, Vinegars, Pies, Tarts, Carrot cakes, Tea Breads, Quiches, Gourmet sauces, Knittings, Native plants, Yak meat, Pork, Vegetable starters and hanging plants as well as indoor & outdoor plants. Tools and household, Sharpening service also, just bring in items.

This week at market a new kids contest; Come by and pick up coloring sheets and find out what it’s all about.

First Market Drawing July 25, so if you haven’t put in your tickets start asking vendors for tickets. For every $5 you spend in a booth you should get a ticket. Then bring the tickets up to the information booth and enter for great market gifts.

This week’s recipe:

Lamb sauce: in a sauce pan brown 5 cloves of garlic minced, add ½ cup ketchup, a touch of soy sauce and lots of black pepper, and chile. Reduce for five minutes on low, set aside. Cook 4 lamb chops in the broiler for 3 to 5 minutes on each side and top with sauce the last minute. Serve in a bed of brown rice with a vegetable and spinach salad.
