LAFC News:

What ever happened to our cute little girl? To our happy little boy? A talk is coming up on Valentines Day that addresses keeping our children happy, enthusiastic, energetic and…well!

Community members of all ages, with or without children, are invited to join Sandy Beery from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 for her presentation on developing strong and resilient children.

Everyone has a role in helping kids feel appreciated and in helping them grow up to be strong and resilient.

Beery will present her social/emotional wellness for children talk at Trinity on the Hill Church in Kelly Hall, at which a light lunch will be provided.

Beery has been an administrator in elementary and secondary schools and has done teacher training in several schools. She is regularly in classrooms and interacting with kids (and sometimes their parents) in problem-solving dialogues.

Editor’s note: Los Alamos Family Council has provided behavioral health services for 50 years to Los Alamos and the surrounding area. In celebration, LAFC has planned a year of free seminars on various aspects of wellness for the community. Seminars on emotional, physical and spiritual wellness have been held; future topics include environmental, intellectual, financial, social and occupational wellness.
