Los Alamos Family Council CountUP! Week 12

By JORDAN REDMOND
Executive Director
Los Alamos Family Council

A chief service provided at the Los Alamos Family Council Counseling Center is substance abuse assessments and treatments. Individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse begin with 12 weeks of individual treatment. Additionally, therapists recommend clients to attend the free SMART Recovery sessions that are offered every Tuesday evening.

Individual treatment for substance abuse, and other issues, begins with assessment and identifying treatment goals. The therapist works with the client to develop a treatment plan that will help the client meet their needs and goals.

Some individuals may meet their treatment goals in a relatively short period of time, others may seek ongoing treatment and after care for months or even years. Therapists tailor treatment to the individual, identifying causal and related issues, to ensure the most successful treatment.

Substance abuse is an issue that many in our community face, and an issue that can make life difficult for family members as well as the individual abusing alcohol or drugs. If you, or anyone you love, needs help – the Counseling Center and Los Alamos Family Council is here for you.

For 60 years, Los Alamos Family Council has been dedicated to promoting the social and emotional well- being of those in our community through education, prevention and counseling. To learn more about our programs, visit our website at lafamilycouncil.org.
