Congratulations to the Los Alamos Extreme Division 2 (7-8 year olds) football team for taking 3rd place this season at the Northern New Mexico Children’s Football League Zia Bowl!
The team started the season with a group of boys who were almost all new to the game. If you would have seen the first game you would have thought it was going to be a long season. The boys never gave up and worked extremely hard every practice.
The team did have a rough first few games, but in the middle of the season the boys came together to begin the first of their winning streak. All the hard work and dedication paid off and when it came down to the last play of the season, the boys used all they had learned, blocked, and ran the ball into the end zone with 6 seconds left to win the game!
Thank you to the coaches, team moms and all the parents who made this season fun. We can’t wait to get back onto the field next season.
We also want to congratulate the Los Alamos Extreme Division 1 (4-6 year olds) flag football team. They are the freshest crop of Los Alamos footballers. These kids learned the rules of football and what it means to work as a team. The coaches and parents enjoyed the camaraderie built by these little balls of energy. We look forward to watching their continued growth on the gridiron for many years to come!
