Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund Now Accepting Applications For 2017 Awards

Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund (LAESF) is now accepting applications for 2017 awards.
 
The largest scholarship pool in Northern New Mexico, LAESF supports students from Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos counties pursuing higher education in all fields of study.
 
High school seniors enrolling in or undergraduates currently attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a four-year degree may apply for awards ranging from $1,000 to $20,000. Application deadline is Jan. 17, 2017.
 
Scholarships of $1000 are also available for adult nontraditional students seeking a two-year degree or certification through the Regional College/Returning Student program. Deadline to apply is Nov. 28, 2016.

Since 1999, LAESF has awarded $5.5 million to more than 1,100 students. The program is managed by the LANL Foundation, with oversight provided by an advisory committee of volunteer donors. Scholarships are funded by Los Alamos National Laboratory employees, retirees, contractors, and Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS). Community members and local businesses may also contribute to the fund. Donations are accepted year round.
