  • Mixed Use Housing and Commercial Development Opportunity

The County of Los Alamos, N.M. is seeking responses to a Request for Proposal from a qualified development entity/team that has the vision, interest and the ability to implement an overall development strategy for the 60 acre county-owned property known as the A-19 site.

The County endeavors to develop an entirely new neighborhood that incorporates the best practices of new urbanism and principles of environmental sustainability in a safe and beautiful high desert setting with unparalleled mountain views and ready access by car or transit to employment and services in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Pajarito Ski Area and Bandelier National Monument as well as Taos and Southern Colorado.

The County anticipates partnering on land and infrastructure to attract the development and sustainable management of mixed use including up to 30,000 square feet of retail space, affordable workforce apartments, market rate apartments and townhomes, live /work space, extended stay, residential and community-oriented business space, and senior housing and facilities.

Los Alamos is best known as the home of the Los Alamos National Laboratory and for the highly skilled and educated people who work there. The County has just recently been named by Smithsonian Magazine as one of the Best Small Towns to Visit in 2013.
