Los Alamos Community Encouraged To Rally In Support Of DP Road Businesses

LACDC News:

Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation (LACDC), and two of its programs, the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and Los Alamos MainStreet & Creative District, are launching a community-focused initiative to bolster businesses on DP Road during recent construction activities, which are anticipated to be complete by the end of June 2025.

From May through June 2025, LACDC encourages Los Alamos residents to show their support of the affected businesses by shopping locally on DP Road. As a special thank you, participants have a chance to win a Community Cash eGift card, a program supported by the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and Los Alamos MainStreet & Creative District. The Community Cash eGift card program, an evolution of the legacy program “Chamber Checks,” was launched in late 2024 and expanded to also include businesses located in the MainStreet districts. A list of current participating businesses on DP Rd (and throughout the community) is available on the Community Cash eGift card locations website, and new businesses are added weekly.

Those who spend at least $25 or more at a participating DP Rd business through June 2025, can be entered to win a $50 Community Cash eGift card.

There are two ways to enter:

  1. Use a Community Cash eGift card at a DP Rd business, and be entered into the promotion automatically.
  2. Submit a receipt to the LACDC office suite, located within the Small Business Center at 190 Central Park Square. Date, location and dollar value spent must be visible on the receipt. This option is good for DP Rd businesses not currently opted into the Community Cash program; those that don’t accept credit or debit cards; or when the purchaser doesn’t have a Community Cash eGift card.

Multiple $50 Community Cash eGift cards will be drawn throughout the next two months.

“This is a wonderful way to directly contribute to the success of local businesses and potentially be rewarded for supporting them during a challenging time,” said Sandy Jones, Director of the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce. “We want to show these businesses that they are valued and supported now and after construction concludes.”

The Community Cash eGift card is a great option to both support local businesses while simultaneously empowering the gift recipient to choose where to spend their funds. The eGift cards also bring awareness of businesses that a gift recipient might not have otherwise considered.
