CHAMBER News:

Crowds will gather downtown this Saturday as the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce hosts the 2014 Chamberfest, a community event showcasing Chamber member merchants, businesses and organizations.

Coupled with an expanded car show, the festival features live music, a giant sand pile, a bubble pit, and a variety of food vendors.

Chamberfest will be centrally located on Main Street and around The Park at Central Park Square. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m. Saturday.

“Chamberfest is a great way for locals and visitors to come see the diversity of our chamber members,” said Communications Manager Blake Jackson of the Los Alamos Chamber. “It allows people to discover or rediscover local businesses and organizations, ask questions, and get information. It’s a great way for people to show their support for our business community. It also allows businesses to connect with potential and existing customers in a very comfortable way.”

This year there are more than 50 businesses and organizations registered to be at the festival. The Car Show at Chamberfest will show off a huge range of cars and invites people to come and check them all out. The car show will be staged in the parking lot at 15th and Central, in front of China Moon and the Chamber of Commerce. A second car show location will feature low-riders staged in the parking lot in front of Origami.

Chamberfest will of course have all the requirements for a great festival, including food from popular local vendors, bouncy houses, and a giant sand pit sponsored by Los Alamos National Bank. UnQuarked – The Wine Room, adjacent to the Festival, will offer a sneak peek and free wine tasting to the public 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Nomads will perform during the festival on a stage set up in the parking lot in front of Origami, adjacent to Fuller Lodge lawn and Romero Cabin.

Parking for the Chamberfest is available in the Central Park Square parking lot in front of Pet Pangaea, The Finishing Touch, and Quiznos. Additional parking is available near Metzger’s Do It Best, Starbucks, and behind CB FOX via Deacon Street.

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce and its parent organization the Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation produce Chamberfest. Los Alamos National Bank, COMPA Industries and The Education Plan sponsor the festival.
