  • This PhD Stands For Pets Handled Dearly…

During the 2018 Legislative Session, Los Alamos DogHouse PhD LLC will be recognized as a Star Client of the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Network at La Fonda in Santa Fe.

The annual reception recognizes businesses and entrepreneurs from across New Mexico who are seeing tremendous growth in their businesses.

In March of 2015, Ruth Scott, owner of Los Alamos DogHouse PhD, LLC began providing safe and enjoyable daycare services for the dogs of Los Alamos and surrounding communities. Not long after Amanda Robertson started New Mexico Ready Set Sit, LLC to provide dog training for dogs and owners. In 2017, they joined forces to create Los Alamos DogHouse PhD, which provides a full-service pet hotel and daycare.

They have found a perfect market for pet care in Los Alamos with doggie daycare, overnight boarding and dog training. Scott and Robertson both worked with the Los Alamos Small Business Development Center before they opened their combined business.

Scott is a 28 year resident of Los Alamos. She has a lifelong ongoing love story with dogs and is fired up by the desire to be an advocate for the voiceless. She is also a serial entrepreneur and this is her fifth time out of mainstream employment. Dr. Amanda Robertson has been training competitive working dogs for over 16 years, and is a fomer manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

“So clear and convinced are both of us by our mission, it is clear to understand why Los Alamos DogHouse PhD is growing and flourishing,” Robertson said.
