Los Alamos Boy Track & Field Team Wins 24th Consecutive District Championship

The Los Alamos Boys Track & Field team won their 24th consecutive district championship.
 
On both days, athletes had to battle high winds which negatively affected times. Many athletes were able to qualify for the state championships by placing 1 or 2 in their event.
 
Freshman, Elijah Velasquez, broke the freshman tripe jump record for LAHS. Juniors, Miroslav Betts and Nathaniel Ortega, both qualified in the 400 by time. Our sprint medley which consisted of Leander Murphy, Nathnaiel Ortega, Miroslav Betts and Hayden Walker, finished as the district champ and qualified by time.

State Championships will be held Friday and Saturday May 13 and 14 at UNM.
