Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers Compete At Region 3 Xcel Gymnastic Championships In Kansas City

Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers from Los Alamos School of Gymnastics on North Mesa competed Thursday through Sunday in the Region 3 Xcel Regional Championships at Hyvee Arena, in Kansas City, Mo.  
 
It was a scene of much excitement and high level gymnastics as 1,793 gymnasts from across region 3 competed in their culminating meet of the season. There was representation from 143 teams from New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Arkanas, Wyoming, Oklahoma and the host state of Kansas. 
 
Los Alamos qualified nine gymnasts to the competition.
 
Hannah Gram, Megan Brown, Chantel Bibeault and Colette Bibeault competed in the Diamond (top) level of competition. Sara Gardner and Kylee Lovato competed in Platinum and Aria Warner competed Gold division. Brianna Fryer and Kayli Lincoln qualified into the Diamond competition but were unable to attend.
 
Kylee Lovato was Los Alamos’ highest all around scorer totaling a 35.65 all-around to finish 13th in the youngest Platinum age division. Lovato also took a bronze medal for her third place finish on the balance beam with a 9.25 and had a 9.25 for a 12th place finish on the floor exercise.
 
Colette Bibeault scored an all-around total of 35.50 for a 17th place finish in the Diamond younger division. Colette finished in the top 10 on balance beam, receiving the ninth place medal.
 
Hannah Gram finished 13th in the senior Diamond division with 35.45. She took medals for finishing in the top 10 on two events; fifth on bars (8.90) and ninth on floor (9.375).
 
Sara Gardner was 19th in the senior Platinum division with 35.30. Gardner’s high events were vault, with a 9.15 for 11th and floor, with a 9.275 for 12th.
 
Megan Brown scored a 35.20 for 19th in the Jr A Diamond division. She took the 10th place medal on vault and finished 11th on bars with 9.15.
Aria Warner was 14th with a 34.55 in the Gold SR division.
 
Chantel Bibeault was 14th in the Jr B Diamond division with 34.35. She took a fourth place medal for her half twist on, full twist off vault.
