Local Students In ‘Europe 2015’ Selling Coffee Again!

COMMUNITY News:

Buy coffee this week and support local students preparing for global educational travel. Fifteen graduating seniors are selling tasty coffee this week to cover some of the costs of their educational tour of ancient civilizations in Italy and Greece.

All coffee is kosher, certified organic, Fair Trade certified, and fresh-roasted after our local order is placed. Coffee is $13 for a 10 oz. bag and can be ordered whole bean or ground, in French Roast, Dark Roast, Medium Roast, and Decaf. Coffee is from the same company used last year. http://www.nectaroflife.com/

Funds raised will support the Europe 2015 travelers as they visit historical sites to learn beyond the textbook in June. Not only will travelers see cultures first-hand, but they will build confidence and skills for college. Their tour includes the Roman Colosseum, Vatican with St. Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel, Capri, Pompeii, Delphi, Temple of Apollo, Acropolis, Parthenon, and the Greek isles of Mykonos, Crete, and Santorini.   http://www.eftours.com/tour-website/1514310KE

“We cannot believe the support we already received with the college care packages and warm drinks at the Pumpkin Glow,” one of the travelers said. As with past groups, Europe 2015 includes lifelong friends, talented musicians, strong athletes, young scholars, creative artists, local volunteers, and active church members who all hope to develop a more global perspective as they move into adulthood.

Just like last year’s group, Europe 2015 already care about global issues. The Fair Trade coffee supports hard-working farmers and their families throughout the world by raising incomes and living standards, as well as helping to protect the environment. www.transfairusa.org

This is the fourth educational tour for graduating seniors offered by local teacher, Lynn Ovaska, through EF Tours.

“I am honored to continue to share the world with these dynamic young adults.” Ovaska said. “The largest benefit of the tours is that is opens doors for them. Several former travelers are using what they learned from their tours as they study as college students this year in Austria, Denmark, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.”

If you are looking for holiday gifts, like to support local youth, know the benefit of educational travel, or want to endorse international Fair Trade practices, consider buying coffee from Europe 2015 this week.

Thank you for supporting our educational tour of Europe in June 2015. We believe that educational travel is a valuable experience for living in our global economy. By witnessing new cultures first-hand and experiencing history usually learned in textbooks, we plan to strengthen our skills as global citizens and build confidence for college and adult life. Lynn Ovaska, local teacher and believer in global education, and an expert tour director with EF Tours will lead us on our tour.
