Local Store Celebrates National Co-op Month

CO-OP News:

October is National Co-op Month and the Los Alamos Cooperative Market is marking the occasion by holding a Member Drive, Member Appreciation Day and partnering with local cooperative businesses.

The Co-op is encouraging the public to “Keep It Co-op.”

The Co-op is a member-owned business at which the public is always welcome to shop.

Hundreds of community members raised $1.1 million to fund construction of the Co-op store at 95 Entrada Dr., next to the Holiday Inn Express.

Membership dues provide additional capital needed for the Co-op to maintain and upgrade its facilities.

Co-op members are the Co-op’s owners. Member-owners participate in the co-op by voting for the Board, benefiting from member-only sales, and in profitable years, can receive patronage dividends.

The Co-op measures its success by how well it reflects the values of the community through the Co-op’s products and services.

Visit losalamos.coop for more information or find the Co-op on Facebook for updates. Membership is open to anyone but not required to shop.
