MUSIC News:

It’s rockabilly weekend in Las Vegas, Nev.! The Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly extravaganza is the biggest rockabilly event in the U.S.

Front man DK Warner and drummer David Fellenz of the Los Alamos band DK and the Affordables will be joining Phil Rocker on stage at the Orleons Hotel 9:45-10:30 p.m., Sunday as Phil Rocker and the Bad Boys of Boomtown. If you can’t make Vegas, you can hear them tonight at Los Ojos in Jemez Springs. This also is your chance to hear DK play stand up base.

Warner met Phil Rocker (stage name of Felipe Ossa) at a rockabilly event in Tucumcari in 2014 and the two have been friends since then.

Rocker hails from Medellin, Colombia. His music background has the rock n roll from the streets of Medellin mixed with academy studies in Instituto de Bellas Artes. His passion is 50s rock’n roll. His debut album is “VIVA-BOP!!!”

As a leader and composer of a pioneer rockabilly band in Colombia (The Dorados), Rocker has represented his country in Mexico and the United States in various festivals as rockcalavera and rockabilly. He sees himself as a representative of the 50s cumbia rock’n roll era.

Rocker has been honored by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame for his contributions in Latin America.
