Local Political Parties Renew Agreement To Keep Politics Out Of Homecoming Parade Friday Sept. 28

Democratic Party of Los Alamos County

By John Bliss, Chair
Republican Party of Los Alamos County

The Los Alamos Homecoming Parade is Sept. 28. Four years ago, our local Democratic and Republican parties agreed not to participate in the Homecoming Parade. We felt that the Homecoming Parade is a beloved community tradition which should not be politicized.

This year, we are recommitting to this and have asked our candidates not to have entries (as candidates) in the parade.

You’ll see plenty of our local candidates mingling with other citizens during the parade and some will probably participate in their other roles as active community members.

While our two political parties don’t always agree on issues, we can agree that Los Alamos is a great community with wonderful local traditions.

Our local Democratic Party and Republican Party want Los Alamos High School Students to enjoy their weekend without political signs and overt campaigning in their parade.

Go Toppers!
