Local photographer Leslie Bucklin is hosting a Trunk Show of her work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Fuller Lodge Art Center.
Bucklin grew up in Los Alamos and following a few years in Colorado and California, she returned to Los Alamos to raise her family. She says her passion or fine art and photography was nurtured by her parents when she was a child. This led her to pursue a degree in photography and digital imaging.
For the past 23 years Bucklin has been a professional photographer and for the last 15 years she has been the staff photographer and graphic designer for Los Alamos County. When she’s not doing her day job, she finds joy in photographing where she has been and what she has seen so that she can share it with others.
Saturday’s show will include fine metal prints, canvas, framed prints, matted prints, scrolls, coasters and cards.
Bucklin is excited about the show because she says it will give her a chance to talk to people about her work and make some room at home for new work.
“This is a great opportunity for people to get some of their favorite pieces from my past shows and to discover some new pieces I’ve never shown before,” she said.
Some pieces will be offered at discounts of up to 40 percent and there will be an opportunity for those in attendance to win an art print. Artists Elizabeth Portillos and Alex Kitonsa also will offer some of their work.
