Local Democrats Designate April As Month Of Action

DPLA News:

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County is designating April as a month of action for its local party. DPLA invites all like-minded individuals to several events this month. In particular, they would like to invite residents to attend their monthly meeting, which will focus on local action and activism.

Saturday, April 8 kicks off with a Community Clean-up event in White Rock. Meet at 10 a.m. at Del Norte Credit Union in White Rock. Dress for clean-up. The DPLA will supply the vests, bags and work gloves (for those who don’t bring their own)

Monday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m., at UNM-LA Building 5, is the DPLA’s monthly meeting and is all about local activism. Laura Liles will give a presentation about her participation in the January Women’s March on Washington. She (and others) also will provide information on how to get involved with other local activism groups. Anyone involved in an action/activism group is welcome to attend and share information about that group. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation, which will be donated to L.A. Cares.

Saturday, April 29 will end the month with another community clean-up event as part of Clean-up Los Alamos Day. Meet at 10 a.m. at Del Norte Credit Union in White Rock. Dress for clean-up. The DPLA will supply the vests, bags and work gloves (for those who don’t bring their own).
