Letter to the Editor: Thanks to All for LAFRW 60th Anniversary Success

Putting on an event is never an easy task.

Several months ago, I was tasked with the responsibility of putting on the Los Alamos Federated of Republican Women (LAFRW) 60th Anniversary Celebration. The need to make this a special celebration was a feeling I could not escape and a challenge I took on willingly.

As everyone who has ever put on a special event knows, it is not a one person show. I  would like to thank several key players who helped to make this event such a success. Thank you to Fusion Cafe. Miracle Miller was a dream to work with. She helped to plan the menu, thought of things I would need and brought extra staff and supplies the day of the event. She was calm, punctual, and her food was great!

My dessert maker was Becca Jones. She made cupcakes that were moist, beautifully presented and delicious! Becca listened to all my requests and changes and also made exactly what I wanted!

Not to be forgotten was the event staff at Fuller Lodge. They were professional, courteous and had extra staff the day of the event to help with any last minute needs. They also helped to keep my stress level low.

I would also like to give a big shout out to Lt. Gov. John Sanchez. It’s not every day that a politician remembers to keep his promises. Two years ago when the NMFRW were at the Round House, I bent his ear and complained that we never see him in Los Alamos. He said that if I extended an invitation, he would come. When I did so this time, he remembered our conversation and was happy to put our event on his calendar. His staff was always upbeat, professional and accommodating. They were a pleasure to work with as well.
