Letter To The Editor: Thanks For Daffodil Drive Success!

By ROSEMARY COYNE, MSN, RN
Executive Director
Los Alamos Visiting Nursing Service

My name is Rosemary Coyne, MSN, RN. I am the executive director of the Los Alamos Visiting Nursing Service (LAVNS) Home Health and Hospice. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who made our 22nd Annual LAVNS Daffodil Drive such a success again this year. The funds we raise every year are used to help our hospice patients in need.

I have been here in Los Alamos just over a year, so this was my second opportunity to see the amazing work done by so many people. Not only did these volunteers donate their time to the cause, they did it cheerfully and with great humor. Countless hours of hard work were provided by caring individuals in this community.

Thanks also go out to the Los Alamos High School Key Club members who help us deliver daffodils every year. A special thanks to Phillip and Bernadette Kunsberg of Central Park Square, who not only provided the space for “Daffodil Central”, they also donated their time and that of several of their employees to help in the preparation of thousands of daffodils.

We also want to thank all of the local businesses in Los Alamos and White Rock that donated space to our volunteers selling daffodils during the last two days of our campaign. Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico and Wal-Mart have also generously sponsored our event for many years.

Our goal at LAVNS Hospice is to continue to provide excellent care to our patients throughout the area. With the help of so many generous and supportive people in our community, we can meet that goal.
